The Frozen Road

 Ice bound, the road

arrested in time

is the one that couldn’t thaw

release smells of changing seasons

breathe the hardships, joys

of rain and sun

The road immaculate

shadows of dark and darker transparencies

harbors years of buried feelings

held hostage by terror stricken cold

Awaits the kiss, melt this stilted ice

defending deepest desperation,

loss of hope

the frozen road of abandonment

tread too early, leads to oblivion

Waits for the moment you might return

walk it again at last, bringing

enough ready love, releasing

with every step, more ice

until freed from paralysis

it allows for passage

Part of a larger network

of breathing roads

leading one to another

connecting our lives

fearlessly, in the flow

of rain and sun

sheet of ice
