You Say
you don’t belong
here anymore
*
weary of a world
changing so fast
your Spirit
flails
in the loneliness
of your words
*
I pause
*
the Origin of my life,
I never imagined
you Elsewhere
than part of it
Now
unwelcome
and inevitable
the notion of your absence
prods me
*
I see
a Dimming
momentary
for the planet
but Permanent in
my chambers,
the ones built
with Your Blood

My mother, Marilyn Cashman Nahas is 83
Very lucky to still have her in my life.

What a beautiful tribute to your mother Keren x
Thank you Andrea! I feel so lucky to live close to her, it is so hard to be far when your parents age!
A lovely homage to a beautiful woman, Kiki.
Thank you Melissa!
Oh Kiki — you express the unthinkable, and yet we must contemplate it. Seeing that lovely photo took my breath away. Love you so.
It is a lovely photo of her! Thank you for your words Claire!
Lovely
Hi Kili
I know we don’t communicate often but this one really hit a soft spot… My mum is 92 and in the past few months started really deteriorating… So the unthinkable is becoming more and more of a realisation … You express it beautifully in words. Thank you for sharing. Nurit
Hi Nurit! Thank you for telling me this. I remember your mother distinctly, it was over 20 years ago now, she was telling me that the problem with youth today (then), was that we didn’t have enough “sitzt fleisch”, she made me smile so deeply; I loved that remark and carry it around with me everywhere since that evening in her home in Haifa.
Thank you for the poem, Kiki. Hugs and blessings to you and your beautiful Momma, and all of your family!
Thank you Ana!And to You!
This is a keeper, Kiki. Thank you.
You are the keeper Jimmy! Thank you.
Alors là, tu m’as fait pleurer, Kiki. Trop beau, tranchant et émouvant ton poème.
C’est une évantualité à la fois inévitable et inimaginable télement sa présence d’oré nous anime tous encore.
