Have You Been Your Own Messiah?

*

Do you ever Wonder

If I were to die Now

would I die stupid?

or

has my life been full

of giving a hand

listening to broken

hearts, the keening

of Geese, interspersed

with picking my nose

sharing my food, my drink

heeding the Call of Destiny?

*

Did I Stand enough?

Balance those moments

when cowering, I Sat?

*

Do you ever Wonder

who would I be Now

were I to die hit by a car

instantaneously?

*

what have you done

for Yourself, Others

the Earth?

*

You realize too

once the few

who know you Pass

no memory of your Time

Here remains

*

Do you ever wonder

Have I been my own Messiah?

The Revival

You Returned

from the Dead,

as did Lazarus,

the continuation

into your New Life

a Resurgence

from Deepest Darkness

*

You carry Now

profound insight

into Our Humanity,

as revealed by the modulated

Spring in your Step

the Smile,

the ardent generosity

and more importantly

the Absence of Sadness

The Urn

the urn

Scatter me

you said

to the Four Winds

that I might fly

at last

deepest wish

and strongest fear

you said

that I may mingle

in laughter, tears

words of truth

and foolishness

you said

that I might visit

close and far

wide and near

simultaneously

with different particles

of my Self

you said

that in Death

I be what I was in Life

a lingering Flame

at once important

and

 insignificant

The Staining

    For Adi

That moment

when out of Nowhere

you feel deeply Alone

you don’t know why

but you know

your life

has changed

never to be

what it was-

Never

the irrevocable

shift

into a New World

bringing

Responsibility

All At Once

a concept so unknown

so remote

so Massive

Fear Coated with Dread

*

and yet somewhere

Hidden

deep deep down

a miniscule seed

set Aglow

with Worth

Satisfaction

even Joy

in the budding

capacity

as Life Giver

Particles, Infinitesimally Small

Bonding Repelling

Repeatedly

Creating Matter

As we know it

Us, as we Are

Matching Composition

Of Stars and all Manner of Life

Reproducing Endlessly, Dying

Disintegrating,

something else takes our place

Life Rolling Into Itself

Tirelessly

*

Can we stop a Moment

Take a look, Shudder

As we Marvel in the Redundancy

Of our Minds?

*

Why Are We Here?

On Top Of The World Looking Down

It is a cool and dark space

The top of the world

Not the light filled place

People dream of

Rather continuously overlapping

Shades of Grey, tricking

The undiscerning eye

Into a fog of illumination

Quite like heat In the Desert,

but for my Eye

These shades tell the story

Of lives after lives

The secrets whispered

The fears roared, the pain

Moaned and the Joy sung

From the top of the world

I navigate the calls

For help, the summons

for presence, the commands

to attention.

From these heights, I long

At times to descend

Join the chorus of Beauty

And Loss

Hold the extended hand

Caress the sobbing head

Move with the dancing bodies,

That I too, should be of this flesh

Know the taste of water
